Retronautis is a revolution in digital historical experiences. The mobile application is a digital time capsule that brings the past to life like never before. The Mobile Application uses markers to indicate a huge collection of photographs and illustrations on their exact location. The user can also navigate through maps of several time periods. Each map displays the historical content of that particular age.
In this version, The Scheepers Map of 1880 and The Virgilius Bononiesis Map of 1565 are used to illustrate the appearance of the City of Antwerp in Belgium throughout history. Over time new cities will follow and more worldwide historical content will be added. The app already offers over 500 photographs from the city of Antwerp and some photographs are colorized and can be seen in 3D with Anaglyph 3D goggles.
The App is worldwide and can be downloaded from any location.
